Sale Shopping

This year I’ve been a good girl (read broke) and I’ve been very frugal in my sale shopping 😉

Anyway, these are my bargains:

biker boots from Mauro Leone

suede boots from Tommy Hilfiger (50% off!)

handbag from Mango

pulls from Zara

and, not in the picture, tons of pretty underwear from a new discovery: Undiz. Take a look, they have lovely things at such a reasonable price! And best of all, they went 50% from the very first sales day!

What did you buy?

Karl Lagerfeld for Sephora

The limited edition capsule collection that Mr Karl Lagerfeld created in exclusive for Sephora Europe is already out and available in stores and online.

Celebrating Mr Karl Lagerfeld with humor and style, this collection is indeed a collectible.

Must have #1 is surely the eyeshadow palette in Mr Lagerfeld’s iconic profile shape.

Price € 35

Must have #2, ça va sans dire, is the elegant black and gold box sealed by Mr Karl’s silhouette containing a nail polish duo in black and gold.

Price € 30

The eau de parfum is amusingly called Karleidoscope and is the result of the collaboration with nose Christophe Raynaud. A powdered floral bouquet with notes of Violet leaf, Angelica seed, Violet, Heliotrope, Benzoin resin, Tonka bean and Patchouli. The black and white bottle reminds of Mr Karl’s uniform of white shirt and black tie, with a gold band on the top bearing the name of the fragrance.

Price € 39 for 30 ml, € 63 for 60 ml

And, as if it wasn’t enough, there are the accessories too, like the makeup trousse, Mr Karl’s doll (so you can always take him with you) and the cristal ball.

“Fashion is not moral nor amoral, it’s made to raise morale”

Versace for H&M

The Versace for H&M line will be out on November 17th and for the fist time I’m not excited nor counting down the days.

Truth is, I don’t like it.

Ok now. I can explain.

I agree that this picture from the campaign is just amazing and makes you want to buy it all:

The girls look amazing, the clothes look amazing, everything seems just perfect. It could be a picture from Versace’s new campaign. No fast fashion involved.

But if you think it through, you’ll realize that the clothes are too expensive for H&M standards. Due to the very wide distribution, I personally doubt that the quality of the materials will keep up with the price. I could be wrong, but I had been disappointed before.

Another reason I’m not very fond of this collection is the fact that it is made of single pieces, little combinable and with few accessories.

Take a look. A lot of dresses, many jackets, few skirts, some belts. Where is that beautiful handbag Daphne is carrying? And the necklaces and bracelets both girls are wearing?

The idea of capturing the strong imaginary evoked by a historic brand like Versace is great, and the “too much” is part of the game, anyhow I think they went too iconic and this will make the clothes feel old very soon.

Aside from these two, which are genius:

I would die to see Liz Hurley wearing the purple one in Gossip Girl for old times’ sake!

Wish List #1

Even if today ‘s hot as hell -I am literally melting on my chair- I can’t help browsing around for fall clothes. Never thought I could get fed up of summer and be craving for autumn -but maybe (MAYBE) that’s because I want new clothes.

Here’s a little selection from my wish list:

Van Bery

Imperial

asos

Zara (hate the shirt!)

Mango

Do you like them? Seen them already in the shops?

My Favorite Beauty Products

Today I want to share my beauty routine. I’m quite lazy, so I don’t spend much time on it. But some of the products I use are really good so… let’s just spread the voice!

Bottega Verde’s Scrub Mask with Musk Rose oil and Rose-hips.

It smells good and is very delicate and suitable for sensitive skins.

I use it for the face and neckline and I must admit that it leaves the skin really smooth.

Bottega Verde is an Italian company which produces natural cosmetics.

Unfortunately the online store only ships to Italy.

 Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse

This oil spray is just wonderful! You can use it on your face, body and hair.

It dries in a sec and doesn’t stain the clothes.

I mix it with the Nivea cream to moisturize my legs and, alone, it has replaced my night cream.

The plus: smells like paradise!

You can buy it in pharmacies here in France where I discovered it’s a must.

KIKO’s 3 Phase Vitamin Oil

This nourishing oil really works!

My nails used to break all the time, and now that I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks they improved a lot.

This is a oil, you can’t apply it as a base for the regular nail polish.

It takes a really long time to dry out (don’t even know if it dries completely) after a while I just clean it up with a tissue.

KIKO’s No Transfer Foundation SPF 20

The label says: no transfer extra long lasting foundation with anti-age dna repairing complex, moisturizing and lightening effect.

Well, I don’t know about anti-age and dna repairing but I can tell you that this foundation is really moisturizing!

At the beginning it may seem at little bit greasy but after a couple of minutes the greasy sensation goes away and the skin is just soft and silky.

The plus: SPF 20 perfect for summer!

 KIKO’s Automatic Waterproof Eyeliner

Great eyeliner shaped as a pen and with a hard point that makes it really easy to apply.

I always forget to shake it, so sometimes the color is a bit weak.

The plus: doesn’t smudge.

  Estée Lauder’s Pure Color Eyeshadow

Love the color, love the texture, love the packaging!

I usually apply it with my fingertips, but the brush is really good! Is just that… I don’t know how to shade so I haven’t used it that much.

KIKO’s Luxurious Lashes Mascara

Love mascaras with big brushes and this is one of them!

It is very easy to apply, even to lower lashes and it doesn’t smudge.

Well, I haven’t tried it on very sad occasions.

Estée Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick

I am not very much the lipstick type cause it usually makes me look really old, but this Bois De Rose is just perfect for my skin tone!

If you have olive complexion too you should try it!

  Estée Lauder Tender Lip Balm

Sorry for the picture, the label is barely readable, but that’s because this gloss is always in my purse.

It is in fact a lip balm and leaves your lips really silky, but it is also glossy, colored and glittered!

It is just perfect for the summer and it can replace the lipstick.

The plus: SPF 15

Chanel’s Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Toilette

Last but not least THE perfume.

I’ve been addicted to Coco Mademoiselle for a long time now, I think it’s so pleasant and you can never get tired of it.

This is the pocket -purse- version.

The plus: the rechargeable 20 ml package (you get 3) and you can take with you wherever you go!

Fall Preview

When Vogue’s August issue arrives I always try to ignore it and let it lay somewhere, unread, as long as possible. I know it’s stupid, but watching those shootings full of fur coats and cashmere dresses while I’m in my bikini all day, just depresses me.

But now it’s been raining all day, and as I cannot go the beach I thought that at least I could make the best out of this lousy day catching up with next season’s trends. Here’s a selection of what I found interesting on the web. All of the clothes below are available for online shopping. Enjoy!
